Why study this course?

Course Overview

Our T-Level in Legal Services combines classroom learning with valuable experience from the legal and professional services sector. Working alongside industry partner Brabners, students will develop the knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours needed to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.

Students will also benefit from a unique Brabners Industry Journey, providing valuable exposure to the legal profession through:

  • Masterclasses, workplace visits, sector insights and technical workshops.
  • Live employer briefs based on authentic professional challenges.
  • Access to an Industry Advocate for guidance, challenge and career insight.
  • A substantial industry placement with real workplace expectations.
  • Progression support and a destination conversation or interview through the sponsor network.

The T-Level can support progression into a wide range of careers and pathways, including:

  • Paralegal or Legal Services Assistant
  • Legal Secretary or Legal Administrator
  • Solicitor or Solicitor Apprenticeship
  • Chartered Legal Executive
  • Conveyancing, Compliance or Casework
  • Court, Criminal Justice or Public-Sector Legal Support
  • Business, Finance and Employment Legal Services

Students will explore a comprehensive range of areas, including:

  • Understanding how legal organisations and professional services operate.
  • Exploring core legal principles and how the law is applied to real-life situations.
  • Developing an understanding of professionalism, ethics, regulation, equality and inclusion.
  • Using technology, research and data effectively within legal and professional environments.
  • Developing skills in project management, administration and professional communication.
  • Building occupational knowledge and skills through a Legal Services Assistant specialism.

Where does this qualification lead?

Specific entry requirements for this course

To enrol in the course, students must meet the entry criteria of 5 Grade 4s at GCSE, including English and Maths. For those who do not meet the criteria, we offer a foundation year option as a preparatory pathway to the T-Level program, extending the course duration to 3 years in total.

A-Level entry requirements

At least four 5s at GCSE.
Your English and maths GCSEs must be at least grade 4.

BTEC entry requirements

At least five 4s at GCSE. A grade 4 in math, English language, or literature, and a grade 3 in the other subjects is required.

Industry Placement

Our T-Level includes a substantial industry placement of at least 315 hours, giving students the opportunity to experience a professional workplace and put their learning into practice.

Through our partnership with Brabners and wider employer network, students will gain valuable industry insight, develop professional skills and experience real workplace expectations.

Alongside their placement, students will benefit from masterclasses, workplace visits, live employer briefs, technical workshops and access to industry professionals, helping prepare them for their next steps after D6.

Employability Skills

Through our curriculum and employer-led experiences, students will develop essential workplace skills including professional communication, research, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, organisation and attention to detail.

Students will also develop an understanding of professional standards, ethics and expectations within legal and professional services environments.
