Year 12 take on the Army experience day

October 15, 2024

Our Year 12 students took part in something a little different, an Army Experience Day led by the British Army!

The day started with a talk from serving members of the Army, who spoke about the different pathways in the army and openly about what life in the Army is really like. They shared their personal journeys, the challenges they’ve faced and the wide range of roles available across the Army. It was eye-opening for many students, giving them a real sense of the discipline, commitment and teamwork that comes with a military career – as well as the rewards.

After the talk, students were put through their paces in a series of team-building activities. These were designed to test and develop key skills like communication, leadership and problem-solving. Some tasks pushed students physically, others mentally, but all of them required teamwork and determination.

It was great to see students supporting one another, stepping up to lead and finding solutions under pressure. There were plenty of laughs, teamwork and a strong sense of achievement by the end of the day.

A huge thank you to the British Army team for giving our students such a valuable experience. It was a day full of energy, challenge and personal growth – and it gave many students a fresh perspective on what they’re capable of, both individually and as a team.

We’re proud of how our Year 12s embraced the day and gave it their all!
