D6 Students get a taste of Oxford life

March 25, 2025

Five of our Year 12 students had the incredible opportunity to attend a residential trip hosted by The Queen’s College, Oxford on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th March, as part of The Access Project programme here at D6.

Over the two days, students got a real insight into life at one of the world’s most prestigious universities. The visit included taster lectures that gave them a glimpse into the academic rigour of Oxford, as well as tours of both The Queen’s College and Oriel College, allowing them to explore the history, architecture and atmosphere of the university firsthand.

A key part of the experience was a session on how to put together a competitive university application, an invaluable resource for anyone considering applying to Oxford or other universities in the future.

The trip was both inspiring and informative, giving students a clearer idea of what life at Oxford could be like and helping them feel more confident about aiming high in their future university choices.

A huge thank you to Mrs Taylor for attending and supporting our students throughout the visit. We’re proud of our Year 12s for representing D6 so well and making the most of this fantastic opportunity.
